Camera

Hi everybody! So I have been becoming more and more disappointed in the camera that I have. We have only had it about a year, and I just seem to be disappointed more often than not. It is a JVC Everio and it is a video camera and still camera in one. I have now learned that right there that is probably all my problems. I guess I just didn't do enough research, but realistically, I just wouldn't have know what to look for, or what questions to ask. JVC's videos are in there own format, when you re-format them(to work with or share video's) you loose a LOT of the quality....We got it because having two small kids, I thought, it would be great to only have to pack around one camera...WRONG. I have now found out the hard way. The stills are okay, but I am really wanting a higher quality picture. So long story short...I am asking for advice and helpful information for picking out our next camera(s), so we can start saving money for them. Let me know what kind of camera you have if you are happy with it, ect. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I have a nikon d80.. But I know costco has a great deal on the d40 I think thats what it is.. it is a 10 mp and is very user friendly.. if you are looking for a small one, not a slr, I know my coolpix, nikon has worked great for the last 4 years.. It is now time to replace it though.. something is wrong with the video part.. but if you saw how I took care of it you would be amazed it lasted this long.. it is usually sitting at the bottom of my purse un protected!! but hey.. it is small and I always try to have it with me for those times I dont want to carry around the slr!!

canon is still top rated when it comes to cameras.. :) i just got a canon rebel slr and i love it, though it does not have video.. i think the newer model does. it is bigger, so i also have a little one to carry in my diaper bag.. again, it is canon.. i did research, and still canon really are top quality!!
